Google Forms doesn’t have a single “anonymous mode” toggle, but you can take steps to keep responses anonymous. First, edit your form settings and turn off the option to collect email addresses. If you’re in a Google Workspace domain, uncheck “Restrict to users in your organisation” to allow anonymous access. Next, avoid asking for names, employee IDs or other identifying information unless absolutely necessary. You can include an optional “department” or demographic question if you need segmentation.
In the Responses tab, disable “See who has responded” to ensure that respondents’ identities remain hidden. When sharing the form, use a generic link rather than sending personalised invitations through Google Classroom or Gmail. Explain in your introduction that the survey is anonymous and that individual responses will not be connected to names or emails. This reassurance boosts participation and honesty.
Remember that IP addresses and device identifiers aren’t visible in Google Forms; however, administrators with access to server logs could theoretically match timestamps to users. If anonymity is critical, consider using a third‑party survey tool that anonymises data by default or routes responses through an anonymity layer.
